Adafruit DC & Stepper Motor HAT for Raspberry Pi - Mini Kit
Drive up to 4 DC motors or 2 stepper motors from your Raspberry Pi with this motor driver HAT. Uses TB6612 MOSFET drivers with 1.2A per channel capacity and a dedicated PWM chip, requiring only two I2C pins for control.
Stackable design allows chaining multiple HATs for controlling even more motors—up to 32 HATs on a single Pi.
Key Features
- 4 DC Motors or 2 Steppers – Flexible motor configuration
- TB6612 Drivers – 1.2A per channel with 3A peak
- PWM Speed Control – 8-bit resolution (~0.5% steps) for DC motors
- Multiple Stepper Modes – Single coil, double coil, interleaved, micro-stepping
- I2C Control – Uses only SDA and SCL pins
- Stackable – Chain up to 32 HATs
- Protection Built-in – Polarity protection, flyback diodes, thermal shutdown
Specifications
- Motor Channels – 4 DC or 2 stepper
- Current – 1.2A per channel (3A peak)
